Claims Adjuster – Specialty Lines (Energy / Marine / Aviation)

London | Full-time | Office-based (5 days per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join a growing, customer-focused claims team within a dynamic and expanding specialty insurance business. This role offers the chance to play a key part in shaping claims strategy while working across a diverse portfolio of complex risks.

Reporting to the Marine Claims Manager, you will be responsible for managing and adjusting claims across specialty lines, with a particular focus on Energy & Renewables. However, we are also keen to hear from candidates with Marine or Aviation claims experience.

Training and development is extremely important to the team, so this role will encourage the opportunity to
attend various networking events and workshops, as well the opportunity to travel.

The Role

You will take ownership of a varied portfolio of insurance and reinsurance claims, handling matters from first notification through to resolution. This is a highly collaborative position, working closely with underwriting, brokers, external partners, and internal stakeholders across operations, finance, and actuarial teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end claims handling (notification, investigation, reserving, and settlement)
  • Handling claims via both Bureau and non-Bureau channels
  • Liaising with brokers, clients, co-insurers, and external service providers (lawyers, surveyors, adjusters, engineers)
  • Supporting reinsurance recoveries and reporting processes
  • Contributing to monthly close and reserve reconciliation activities
  • Maintaining accurate claims records and meeting service standards
  • Attending market events, client meetings, and industry conferences
  • Monitoring market developments and providing claims intelligence

About You

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in insurance claims
  • Background in Energy claims preferred, but Marine or Aviation claims experience will also be considered
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with underwriting and claims systems
  • ACII qualified (or working towards) is advantageous
