Claims Analytics Lead

Claims Analytics Lead | London | Insurance

I’m working on an exciting opportunity for a Claims Analytics Lead to join a leading international insurance business in London.

This is a newly created role focused on bridging the gap between claims and data science. The key is finding someone who can work closely with claims stakeholders, understand their challenges and translate business needs into meaningful analytical insight that improves decision-making and performance.

The role is 3 days a week in the office.

The role:

  • Build strong relationships across Claims, Portfolio Management, Data and Technology, acting as a key business partner to the claims function.

  • Work with claims leaders to identify business challenges and translate them into practical analytical solutions.

  • Apply data science, statistical modelling and machine learning to claims data to identify trends, understand loss drivers and improve performance.

  • Develop insight across areas such as claims forecasting, triage, severity, recoveries and operational performance.

  • Work with technical teams to turn analysis into practical tools and recommendations that can be embedded into day-to-day decision-making.

  • Help shape and develop a dedicated claims analytics capability, with the opportunity to influence its direction and priorities.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in data science, analytics or a similar analytical role within insurance.

  • Strong knowledge of data science techniques, with hands-on experience using Python or R and SQL.

  • The ability to interpret business challenges, ask the right questions and translate them into analytical solutions.

  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to communicate complex findings in straightforward commercial terms.

  • An understanding of claims processes and how analytics can improve decisions and business outcomes.

Experience in specialty insurance or the London Market would be beneficial but isn’t essential.

This would suit someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and data science, rather than focusing purely on technical delivery. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, shape a new capability and see your work make a tangible difference to the business.
