Schemes Underwriter
Location: Leeds / Manchester / Birmingham (hybrid, office-based)
The Opportunity
Join a growing, high-priority underwriting team focused on building and scaling delegated schemes. This is a chance to play a key role in shaping portfolios, working closely with brokers, and contributing to an ambitious growth strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Underwrite new business and renewals across delegated schemes, primarily within Financial Lines
- Manage broker enquiries, negotiate terms, and deliver profitable outcomes
- Act as a key referral point, maintaining strong service levels
- Build and develop broker relationships to drive long-term partnerships
- Support portfolio reviews, providing insight and recommendations
- Maintain strong underwriting discipline in line with authority levels and guidelines
- Collaborate with internal teams to grow and optimise scheme performance
What You’ll Bring
- ~3+ years’ underwriting experience (Financial Lines / PI preferred)
- Exposure to both new business and renewals
- Delegated / schemes experience helpful but not essential
- Strong communication skills and relationship-building ability
- Proactive mindset with the drive to manage and progress work independently
